Course Descriptions at Fultwood Outdoors Academy
Bible Study Daily Bible Study sessions aim to nurture students' spiritual growth and ethical development. These sessions focus on understanding biblical teachings, developing personal faith, and applying spiritual principles to everyday life.
Reading (ELA)
- 3rd-5th Grade (The Good and The Beautiful): This course develops students' reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. The Good and The Beauitful provides a comprehensive literacy program that includes reading diverse texts, writing essays, and engaging in discussions to enhance comprehension and expression.
- 6th-8th Grade (Comp 1 High School Credit): This course prepares students for high school-level English composition. It covers advanced writing techniques, literary analysis, and research skills, granting high school credit upon successful completion.
Math
- 3rd-5th Grade (Saxon Math): Saxon Math uses an incremental approach to teaching arithmetic, geometry, and problem-solving. This method reinforces concepts through practice and review, ensuring a solid mathematical foundation.
- 6th-7th(Pre-Algebra{Shormann Math}: Shormann Math is a comprehensive math curriculum that integrates a biblical worldview with rigorous mathematics instruction, often used by homeschooling families. The Prealgebra course in Shormann Math is designed to bridge the gap between elementary math and high school algebra.
- 8th Grade (MrDMath): MrDMath offers an interactive and engaging curriculum tailored for middle school students. It covers key mathematical concepts and problem-solving strategies, making math accessible and enjoyable.
Science partnering with Journey Home School Science is a comprehensive science curriculum designed for homeschooling families. It emphasizes hands-on learning, critical thinking, and a Christian worldview, aiming to engage students in understanding the natural world through the lens of faith and science.
Social Studies This course, also designed by Fultwood Outdoors Academy and aligned with Florida State Standards, immerses students in the study of history, geography, civics, and economics. Through interactive lessons and activities, students learn about historical events, geographical features, government structures, and economic principles, fostering a comprehensive understanding of the world.
Physical Education (PE) Our PE courses align with Florida State Standards and include:
- Physical Education: Focuses on general fitness, wellness activities, and the development of motor skills.
- Team Sports: Encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and cooperation through various team-based sports.
- Weightlifting: Strength and conditioning exercises to enhance physical fitness and muscle development.
- Dual Sports: Activities centered on two-person sports, promoting coordination, strategy, and teamwork.
